Phonics

At Spotland Primary, we use ‘Supersonic Phonic Friends’ as our system for the teaching of phonics. This is a government accredited phonics programme.

Children are taught phonics in their class groups within the Foundation Stage and Year 1. It is acknowledged that there will be some children at Spotland Primary who will continue, and may even begin, their phonetic learning at a point in school after the end of Year 1.
