Our Computing intent is to:
  • To inspire pupils to become active and creative users of technology, whilst fostering a deep understanding of its impact on society.
  • To develop pupils' computational thinking skills, enabling them to solve problems and design solutions through the use of logical reasoning and algorithms and for pupils to develop their coding skills using specific vocabulary and commands.
  • To enable pupils to become responsible digital citizens, aware of the risks and opportunities associated with using technology.
  • To enable pupils to use technology in a safe, ethical and legal manner, whilst developing critical thinking skills to evaluate the accuracy and reliability.
  • To nurture pupils' creativity and curiosity, providing opportunities for them to explore a range of digital media, including audio, video and graphics. Pupils will learn to use digital tools to express themselves, communicate their ideas and understand how to engage with the wider world.
  • Overall to provide a rich and engaging computing curriculum that equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to thrive in the digital age, whilst fostering a love of learning and a passion for technology.
