Our Music intent is to:
  • Give every pupil at Spotland Primary School the opportunity to become a fluent and articulate musician.
  • For music to contribute to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development at Spotland.
  • For pupils to be engaged and inspired to develop a love of music as they learn to sing and play musical instruments with an increasing level of independence.
  • For children’s self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement to increase as they compose and perform musically.
  • For pupils to gain experience of music in a variety of settings and leave school with an appreciation of how music is composed and performed, allowing them to enjoy listening to a wide variety of musical genres.
