Archery Sports Report

On Tuesday 5th November, we took part in an Archery festival at Greenbank Primary School.  When we got there, we realised we were the three youngest contestants. But, this didn’t put us off. We were determined to try and win the competition. Firstly, we were given a practice round. Here, all three of us excelled. I hit a 9 on the board, which is very impressive considering we only had one practice.

Now it was time for the real competition. Nine schools took part.  Spotland were placed in a group with Lowerplace and St Andrew's. In our first round, we were finding our feet and each of us hit the target. But in our second round, we had all got the hang of it and scored 41, which meant we were 2nd place in our group. Lower-place were exceptionally good at Archery and were hard to beat.

The third and final round. By this time we were all frozen yet we still wanted to win the competition for Spotland. Here we tried really hard, Richard even shot an arrow across the field. However, we didn’t succeed and Lowerplace were crowned the winners with Greenbank winning overall. Despite this, we had a brilliant time and can’t wait to practise in Archery Club, so next year we can win!
