Pupil Voice At Spotland Primary School

Spotland Primary School Pupil Voice Survey

At Spotland Primary School, we take the views of our children very seriously. Each year we ask all the children from Year 1 to Year 6 to complete a questionnaire and we use the results to find out what they think and plan things if there are any improvements we can make.

We are so happy to see that 97% of the children are proud of Spotland Primary School, next year we hope that will be 100%.

It is fantastic to see that 92% of children fell they learn a lot in lessons all or most of the time and that 93% of children think that school helps them to be healthy.

We also think it is fantastic to see how many children have the opportunity to take part in clubs and other activities outside of lessons. These are a brilliant opportunity for children to develop skills in different ways.

We would like to find out more from the children about behaviour in school and get their opinions on anything they thing could make it even better.

We would also like to work with the children to make sure that they know how well they are doing in school more often.

Previous Pupil Voice Analysis

In the summer term, we completed a questionnaire with our pupils. The results help us know what the children feel about Spotland Primary School. The results were generally very positive.

  • 86% of children enjoy coming to school all, or most, of the time
  • 89% of children feel safe all, or most, of the time
  • 94% felt they learned a lot in lessons all, or most, of the time
  • 88% say lessons are interesting and fun all, or most, of the time
  • 93% felt that adults explained what they needed to do to improve their work
  • 96% felt proud of Spotland Primary School
  • Nearly ¾ of children attended a lunchtime or after school club

The results from the questionnaire have also given us some areas we will be working on with the children, such as helping them to know how well they are doing in school and giving them more opportunities to share their views and opinions. We will be doing the same questionnaire in the summer term this year and hopefully the results will be even more positive then.
